Outline of the Liquid Packaging Carton Business in Vietnam

Oji Holdings Corporation (CEO: Hiroyuki Isono, Head office: Tokyo) announces its decision to establish a new liquid packaging carton plant in Dong Nai Province, located in southern Vietnam. This marks a significant milestone for us at IPI, representing a further step in our global growth and commitment to serving customers in markets worldwide.

In the liquid packaging carton (aseptic packaging cartons which can be stored for an extended period at room temperature) business, Oji Holdings has been expanding its sales to Europe, Africa, and Latin America etc through us, IPI srl, Italian manufacturing and sales company acquired in May 2023. By establishing a new plant in Vietnam, Oji Holdings aims to further strengthen the Group’s presence and expand reach in the rapidly growing markets in Southeast Asia and neighboring regions.

In general, liquid packaging carton is a challenging material to recycle. However, this business aims to establish a new system for the collection and recycling of liquid packaging carton through technological development and inter-company collaboration, further advancing the material recycling initiatives in Southeast Asia.

As a part of the “Medium-Term Management Plan 2027” announced in May 2025, Oji Holdings is promoting a transformation of business portfolio with a focus on expanding Sustainable Packaging. This project is aimed to enlarge the liquid packaging carton business and help contribute to the sustainability of the earth and society.
